Summary
The Siemens LOGO! ‘Add/Edit Tag’ panel helps the user configuring a new tag to an existing Siemens LOGO! connection or editing an existing Siemens LOGO! tag in a very user-friendly way.
The user can open the ‘Add/Edit Tag‘ panel by clicking the ‘Add New Tag’ icon to create a new tag or by clicking the ‘Edit Tag’ icon to edit an existing tag.
Procedure
Step 1: In AP Historian, click the Siemens LOGO! connection in the tree for which a tag should be created.
Step 2: Next, fill in all general parameters in the ‘General‘ tab as described in the ‘Add New Tag‘ support page.
Step 3: Click the ‘Scanrate‘ tab to change the scanrate if needed as described in the ‘Add New Tag‘ support page.
Step 4: Click the ‘Addressing‘ tab to fill in the addressing parameters.
- Client Access: Specifies the client access of the tag. When ‘Read Only’ is selected, the tag can only be read from the connection by AP Historian. When ‘Read Write’ is selected, the tag can be both read and written from/to the connection by AP Historian.
- Area: Specifies the LOGO! area. The following areas are available:
- Digital Input
- Digital Output
- Digital Flag
- Analog Input
- Analog Output
- Analog Flag
- Network Digital Input
- Network Digital Output
- Network Analog Input
- Network Analog Output
- Variabele Memory Area (VM).
- Data Type: Specifies the data type of the tag when VM area is selected. Read more about data types.
- Start Address: Specifies the start address of the requested data when the VM area is selected.
- Bit Number: Specifies the bit number when a bool data type from the VM area is desired.
Step 5: If archiving is needed, click the ‘Archiving‘ tab and fill in the archiving parameters.
Step 6: Additional tag info can be entered in the ‘Additional Info‘ tab but is not required.
Step 7: Finally, click ‘Save’ to save the tag in Historian.
